Police recover stolen goods worth £50k in Craigmillar

Police recovered £50,000 worth of stolen goods following a series of raids in Craigmillar.
A number of addresses in the area were visited and searched on Wednesday, January 11, leading to the recovery of an Audi A6, several items of high-value jewellery, and a laptop computer.
All of the items were stolen in break-ins that occurred in the south and east of the city.
A 45-year-old woman and 43-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery of the stolen items and will both appear at court at a later date.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with two alleged break-ins that happened in the Craigmillar area, and he will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "The Force is committed to bringing those involved in acquisitive crime to justice, and reuniting stolen goods with their rightful owners.
"However, to do so we need the help of our local communities, and we would urge anyone who has any information about criminals dealing in stolen goods to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111."
