Phonica brings music and cinema together in Craigmillar

An exciting new event, fusing live music, light sculpture, photography and cinema together in a unique way is coming to Craigmillar, when Phonica Goes head To head With Guerilla Cinema.

Phonica is an exciting, live music event, featuring the hottest new and emerging music talent in the city...and if that wasn't enough, Phonica also brings you the premiere screenings by Guerilla Cinema, an innovative project that brings cinema to audiences by solar and pedal power.

All of this is taking place on Friday 19th March at ARTSPACE, Harewood Road (entrance off Niddrie Mains Terrace), from 7pm till 11pm. Tickets cost £5 - pay on the door.

Bands include: the kicking Who's Edna, the Indescribable Plain Breed and the bad-ass Conscious Route. This second Phonica event is the brainchild of Hamish Bamford and Emma Coleman, 'graduates' of Wave theatre's Young Ambassador programme which introduces young people to the arts, creating opportunities for training.

Will surely prove to be a brilliant and memorable performance on Friday evening (19th March) by the above groups of which I and many others are rooting for, and unknown by the majority of the populace an added and unconventional "extra feature" (relatively unknown) is the [our] monthly Creative Writing Group's 5 minute individual perfomance poetry recitals.

These will be just before the main acts take to the stage of which will mainly be concentrating upon poems based on differing forms of solar energy and some of their own work, naturally!

Thanks to Ekua Bayuna and of course Annie George for their time, exuberance, natural creativity, sparkle and inspiration which our class found with and in them since October 2009!

Long may yer lum reek - whatever that means!

Cheers

Further to the [my] above message may I heap plaudits on every hardworking person involved and I really, truly resolved to keep from writing in rhyme today. No way Jose - not this time; (apparently annoys the Hell out o' some,) but Friday night really did 'bite.' 'Twas swell all round, all found. And I for one was very proud to be part of last evening returned home on a "Who's Edna" cloud! Lang may yer lumb reek! PS; Pretty Jennifer don't fret. Long or short, seriously your bright, silky locks were as yet most becoming. Annamarie CauserX:)
