Man appears in court in connection with Craigmillar takeaway alleged assault

A 27-year-old man has appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged in connection with the alleged assault and attempted robbery at the Sunrise takeaway.

A member of staff at the Chinese on Niddrie Mains Road suffered a cut to his hand during the incident, which happened at around 10:15pm on Thursday, August 18. No items, however, were stolen.

Enquiries are continuing to identify a second man believed to be involved and anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward.
