Go-ahead given for restoration of White House pub
14 JulyLocal developers have been given the go-ahead to transform an iconic Craigmillar pub into a temporary art gallery to help with its restoration.
Speaking about the plans, developers Parc Craigmillar said the deterioration of The White House, a 1936 Art Deco roadhouse, had become "a symbol of the decline of Craigmillar".
The company has made its restoration the centrepiece of its regeneration project, and have teamed up with Craigmillar Community Arts to host a historical photo exhibition ahead of its full restoration.
