Fort Kinnaird is to get a new Debenhams - with the creation of approximately 85 jobs, a source for the retailer has confirmed.
The shopping complex's first department store is one of 17 new UK outlets announced this week as part of the company's annual results, and is scheduled to open in 2014.
Debenhams, the country's second biggest department store chain after John Lewis, already have shops on Edinburgh's Princes Street and in Ocean Terminal.
Fort Kinnaird management have said that many of the details are still to be finalised, but it's thought that the store itself will link into plans for the long promised cinema and restaurant complex meant for the land once occupied by the Melrose Tea Factory.
A public exhibition of drawings and information on the proposals is expected to go on show at Fort Kinnaird sometime in late November.
