Once again, a fabulous job by Mark and Veronica and all the kids and other participants.
The work by our Environmental Artist Mark Carr is hugely unknown to the Community ... and that is criminal in my opinion. He and his team, doing outreach work in schools and clubs with kids has been a phenomenal (if never shouted about) success, winning awards and plaudits from all over the place.
Veronica has now left for a teaching job, after winning a huge grant with Sandra George for a Hunters Hall project ... but we are very lucky to still have Mark working in our community for at least another six months. And I know he's still got lots of good stuff up his sleeve, so let's hope we can find the cash to keep him here a bit longer.
Look at his work on the Craigmillar Community Arts website and get in touch by contacting him at greenartcca@googlemail.com
Remember that news doesn't just mean crime and politics – a golden wedding, a new baby, or a personal achievement are news to any community.
