The Diary of a Countryside Lady on 15.5.2010 @13.20
Betwixt & between the woven trees
& knotted leaves,
snowing
blossom & whereby
ne'er
the byways,
pathways
e'er
overlap nor deign to cross,
I stood stock-still @ a complete loss
to explain
the elevation I did'st gain.
A deer, roe, female too, head turned toward I
she noted I - a spy,
and I her too - did'st [silent] espy.
This
is
wherein the land doth lie
silent & still
'neath Mary's castle, o'er vale,
down covert dale whereby the die
was cast. Her will
was set.
She knew, to her I represented,
presented
no visible threat,
yet I fear for her future.
Will she live long & last?
Will the Conservatives preserve
& reserve
her life?
Lead her not to turmoil,
nor [God forbid] strife.
Preserve
not spoil,
and conserve
- her conservation likewise..
